Antonio Saura
The Antonio Saura Foundation opened its doors on the 22nd of February of 2008 with the intention of becoming, as its creator so desired, an art centre dedicated not only to the exhibition of a selection of the artist’s works, but also to the promotion of other contemporary plastic initiatives.

The Foundation hosts, therefore, a permanent collection of paintings, original graphic art, books and documents that encompass the creative trajectory of Antonio Saura, but it is also hosts many temporary exhibitions dedicated to acclaimed and emerging artists whose fields of expression range from photography to digital creation and painting to video-art.

Located in the renowned Casa Zavala, just a few metres from the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral, Antonio Saura’s hopes of having a foundation bearing his name in this city have been fulfilled ten years after the death of the artist who always maintained professional and emotional links to Cuenca.
