Illustrations. Ángela de la Vega
[ From 4th of September to 4th of October, 2009 ]
The illustrations of Angela de la Vega send us to fantasy worlds that mysteriously appear from a hidden path in the memory... impressions on a newspaper column, on a walk in the park, on personal experiences, on childish fears about which you end up laughing, because all her work contains large doses of humour both magical and spontaneous. This is juxtaposed with the treatment of her images; as her sequences of illustrated texts – through charming and expressive characters -, independently lead an expressive dance of animated but ultimately combined gestures which further reinforce the emotive and visual language of their creator.
As an ex-student of the J.Mª Cruz Novillo School of Art, the exhibition that includes the illustrations of Ángela de la Vega can be visited at both the Antonio Saura Foundation and in the exhibition hall of the afore-mentioned school.
