Florence Miailhe graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in the specialty of engraving, and likewise teaches at the prestigious Gobelins school of animation. She began her career as an illustrator, and in 1991 made her first short film. Her extensive curriculum as Director, Scriptwriter, Director of Photography/Image, Set Designer and Special Effects establish her as one of the best animators of the European continent. Amongst her greatest successes as a director are Hammam, Conte de quartier and Au premier dimanche d'août, winning awards at the festivals of Locarno, Cannes, Sitges and the César awards.
